Maintenance Technician - ConTech Lighting, Northbrook, IL

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance duties of the facility during work hours.

Responsibilities include - Housekeeping of facility: cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, Inventories janitorial and kitchen supplies/ordering of supplies, Inspects interior and exterior assigned areas and cleans as needed.

Assists maintenance Mechanics as needed with HVAC Systems and Boiler Systems, Observes and tests the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices. Provides maintenance/equipment repairs. Replaces broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.

Assures all assigned equipment is clean and all safety guarding is in place. Assists in Production and Warehouse with new equipment builds, rework stations, and new cells. Ability to access various programs via laptop to manage and maintain: HVAC Contact vendors and schedule meetings for outside repairs. Training and onboarding new facility personal for cleaning

Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum 1 year custoian/janitorial experience preferred
3 years technical experience in manufacturing environment preferred
Forklift certification a plus

Must have the ability to read, communicate effectively, solve practical problems, respond to questions from supervisor, and use various tools of the trade effectively.

Ability to use Microsoft Word
Ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities and duties
Ability to provide good customer service to the employees
Ability to communicate in verbal and written English

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
